Hi,

Here is something quite different from my previous post. I wanted to get a result as photorealistic as possible to enforce the message. I could have integrated something to get out from the "Shot like" and to shift from reality as this could indeed be achieved simply by shootting such a scene but I finally decided to focus on the content.

The scene was modelled with Blender

The light is an HDRI image

Rendered with Indigo 1.08

The hands have been posed with Daz3D, exported in OBJ format, then imported in Blender and adjusted to the piano keys using mesh modelling.

As the skin texture was not in a satisfying resolution for the foreground arm, I shot the part between the cuff and the cloth from a real arm and used it as texture for that part.

Here is a screen shot of the scene:
Nothing special to say for this one, I wanted to make something else then my last boring in and out scenes.

Hi,

This is one of my first projects I modelled and rendered with Blender about 3 years ago and I revisited it with Indigo. The rendering with Blender internal was quite easy as texturing is more simple since you could texture objects without needing to UV mapping everything.

With Indigo things are much more hard from the texturing point of vue as everything should be UV mapped. So I retextured all the objects of the scene. I also took the opportunity to change the environment, adding some rocks and other stuffs. Except the far background landescape, everything has been modelled with Blender. I was very surprised by the rendering time, external scenes are very fast (relatively) to render with Indigo, depending on the scene, the render time was about 3-6 h.

The water has been made with water settings material and I used a water surface image for the bump and a grass field image for the deep to get some variations. This was the more difficult part, I should have rendered about 40 images to get the actual result.

Modelled with Blender
Rendered with Indigo 1.07
Some postprocessing with Gimp

So here is the result with the whole scene and some closeups.
Based on a scene previously modelled for a dry and sunny day, I tried to get a "Just after the rain" fx, giving to the objects a wet feeling. I rendered two images, one with the base diffuse materials and one with a phong version with spec to get the required reflection. I then mixed them with Gimp leting appearing the dry image when required.

Here is a project I started some times ago but I never took the time to finish it due to the huge work on modeling and texturing. Some of you may remember the image rendered with Yafray (Chènge the World). Re-discovering Indigo I took this opportunity to continue this project. The lighting is exclusively sunlight for day rendering and mesh lights for the night one. I use the camera tonemapping, very useful and so near to the way a cam works.

So here is the model :

The drums kit has been entirely modeled with Blender.

The drummer has been made with DazStudio (Michael 3) and imported into Blender. I then used the Vector Blur compositing function to get the motion with the internal renderer.

The scene has been rendered with Yafray using GI, two renderings have been overlaped, one using the GiQuality settings and the second without.

Some Post-pro with Gimp

The main issue was the lighting, mainly on the drums kit.

Hope you like
